Support the sales and marketing

The video we created was supposed to build the image of a super-modern company with an innovative idea, which is able to change the current status quo in the field of security. Thanks to our video, the client could use it not only on their website but also as marketing material on the Internet, posting it on YouTube and thus creating an additional sales channel for the company.

Challenge

The client needed a professional video that explains the operation of their product. The video was supposed to build the image of a super-modern approach to the issue of security. It had to be futuristic, but at the same time easy to understand. The video was to be posted on the client’s site and support relevant descriptions.

Process and project scope

Scope

The idea was to allow the user to dive into the self-learning antivirus program, and visualize how it detects and fights malicious code within applications. The app was a sequence of pre-rendered 360 videos and the user could use simple navigation to choose the order of sequences played.

Process

The project was developed by an animator, a modeler, a 2D graphic designer and an art lead. We used scrum with weekly sprints to keep our client’s engagement on track.

Collaboration

The client provided the scenario. We created sketches of individual steps and waited for them to be approved. Next, they went into production and the client approved the first versions. We made amendments and presented the final fragment once all elements were delivered. Finally, the client submitted corrections to the entire project in order to improve its flow. The whole thing was done in the period of one month, in the form of weekly sprints.

Technology stack

When creating a 360 HD video in a 3D space that incorporates tons of special effects, a number of problems arise. One is the computing power you need to render such a video. We used a PC with 64 GB of RAM and 2x GeForce 1080 GTX and it still needed about 15 hours to render a 2 minutes long product.

The other issue was the technical scope, number of programs and plug-ins needed to produce an animation of such quality. We used over 15 different software pieces to put this together.
